Structural Steel
Fabrication
Our fabrication facility has the capacity to manufacture up to approximately 100-150 Ton per week. Fabrication operations are supported by MAG & Flux core welding and fabrication stations with heavy lifting provided by four linked overhead cranes. All operatives in the fabrication facility are qualified to the appropriate trade standards and work to our accredited quality management system.
CGC Steel Quality
CGC Steel are accredited to CE Execution Class 3 and we have achieved ISO 9001. We have been investing in management systems such as this to give our clients confidence that we can offer a professional service within the Structural Steelwork Industry.
Estimating and Planning
CGC offer transparency of costing and competitive pricing combined with advice in relation to design programming. We also provide rates, budget costing and client bills to full estimating service.
Drawing Office
CGC work with a highly experienced team of detailers. The drawing office offers design and 3D modelling, providing important information between the client design team, purchasing and shop manufacturing.
Erection
All operational management and supervisors are CITB accredited. All operational team members are CPCS and CSCS trained.
Integrated Services
CGC offer integrated services, in addition to structural steelwork framing, to better co-ordinate and manage combined processes. CGC procure and fit proprietary cold-rolled systems such as Cold-Rolled Purlins and Rail System, usually specified by the structural engineer or architect.
Buying
We operate a just-in-time (JIT) ‘pull’ system for stock inventory, manufacturing to phases required by our clients. All materials are sourced to client specification requirements, to relevant British and European Standards.
Shot Blasting and Painting
Steel is prepared to comply with British Standard quality requirements. When the steel is fabricated it is shot-blasted then painted to the required specification (within the time parameters).
